Description
Discover the balance and efficiency of sidemount diving with your PADI instructor. Many divers find that sidemount cylinders are more comfortable and easier to handle in the water. Sidemount diving is also beneficial for divers seeking improved balance and extended dive times.
With your instructor
First, you will do a confined water dive to get familiar with sidemount diving equipment. Your PADI instructor will also teach you sidemount diving skills such as: frog kicks, entering and exiting the water with cylinders, disconnecting a cylinder and swimming with it in front of you, and how to switch second stages and manage your breathing gas when using two cylinders. Once you are comfortable with these skills, you will complete three open water dives, where you will practice your new skills, buoyancy control, and problem-solving.
