Enriched Air, also known as “nitrox,” is a form of breathing gas that allows divers to extend their bottom time and reduces nitrogen load. It is the most popular PADI specialty program. The PADI Enriched Air Diver Online course can be completed in an afternoon. After finishing the online learning, you will apply the knowledge in practical exercises with your PADI professional instructor to obtain and analyze enriched air. You will also have the option to complete two open water enriched air dives. The certification earned counts toward your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
Academics
You will learn why diving with air that has more oxygen and less nitrogen gives you more bottom time and study the enriched air equipment. During the practical exercises and the two selected (or required) scuba dives, you will:
Discuss oxygen exposure management
Practice analyzing the oxygen content in your scuba tank
Set up your dive computer for enriched air nitrox dives
