Academics
Primary Care (CPR)
In this course, participants are taught the steps and techniques for managing life-threatening emergencies. They practice eight skills to assist patients who are not breathing, have no pulse, have a spinal injury, are in shock, or have serious bleeding. They also learn how to perform CPR and then monitor the patient’s condition to ensure survival until emergency medical services arrive.
Secondary Care (First Aid)
Since many incidents are not life-threatening and emergency medical services may be delayed or unavailable, this course teaches first aid techniques that relieve pain and prevent further injury. Participants will learn how to recognize various injuries or illnesses and practice applying bandages and splints.
EFR Refresher
It is recommended that participants refresh their first aid and CPR skills every 24 months, and this course serves that purpose. Focusing on the most essential skills, the course allows participants to stay up-to-date and, consequently, ready to provide assistance whenever needed.
