Description
Share your passion for scuba diving by becoming a PADI Divemaster. As a Divemaster, you will supervise scuba diving activities and assist with scuba training courses. The PADI Divemaster rating is the first step in your diving career.
Academics
The PADI Divemaster course teaches you how to lead and take responsibility for diving activities. Through classroom sessions, skill development exercises, and workshops, you gain the ability to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities. Topics and practical workshops include:
- The role and characteristics of a PADI Divemaster
- Supervising diving activities and assisting student divers
- Diver safety and risk management
- Divemaster programs and specialized skills
- Dive business and career opportunities
- Awareness of the diving environment
- Dive organization and leadership
- Mapping an open water dive site
- Conducting dive briefings
- Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive
- Conducting a scuba review and a skin diver course
- Assisting with Discover Scuba Diving and conducting Discover Local Diving programs
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Rescue Diver, 40 logged dives, CPR and First Aid certification within the past 24 months, and a medical clearance for diving.
