Description
The third part of the full PADI Tec Deep Diver program is Tec 50. As a Tec 50 diver, you demonstrate that you have developed advanced Tec diving skills and are qualified to dive to a maximum depth of 50 meters / 165 feet. You know how to perform extended, accelerated decompression stops using up to two gases. Reaching this level is not easy, and obtaining the Tec 50 certification opens the door to deeper diving missions.
To enroll in the Tec 50 course, you must:
- Be a PADI Tec 45 diver
- Have at least 100 logged dives, including at least 20 dives with enriched air Nitrox deeper than 18 meters / 60 feet and 15 dives deeper than 30 meters / 100 feet
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a medical certificate signed by a physician within the last 12 months
Please note that certifications meeting the requirements from other diver training organizations may also be accepted – check with your instructor.

The Tec 50 course includes two knowledge development sessions, three practical application sessions, and four open water dives. The primary focus of this course is dive planning and execution. You will also learn more about emergency management and how to think like a technical diver.
